Leadership Training
Don't Miss Your Chance to Be an Emerging Leader—Applications Due January 31
The Emerging Leaders fellowship is designed specifically for family medicine educators. Right from the beginning, you will be immersed in a leadership role. You will learn to create change, be it creating a healthier community, leading re-design of your practice, or running for office in a national organization. The fellowship registration fee includes interactive training, workshops, presentation opportunities, and mentorship that will transform you into a leader in the field of family medicine. It also covers your registrations to both the 2012 and 2013 STFM Annual Spring Conferences.

Research Activities
CERA Opens Call for Survey Questions Geared to Clerkship Directors
The
CAFM Educational Research Alliance (CERA), is now accepting proposals for the first annual CERA survey of family medicine clerkship directors. The survey will collect demographic information in addition to submitted questions. Priority will be given to proposals that are likely to result in high-quality, peer-reviewed publications. Once projects have been approved, experienced researchers will join each project team to help refine questions, facilitate analysis, and prepare and submit manuscripts.
Submit your proposal by March 1 for consideration.
Respond to CERA Surveys
Three
CERA surveys being sent in January and February to members of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, North American Primary Care Research Group, and the Association of Departments of Family Medicine. Surveys are going out via e-mail to senior faculty, practicing physicians, and residency directors. S ome members may fall into all categories and may be asked to complete more than one survey. The results of the surveys will be used in published research and will be added to a clearinghouse of data that residents and family medicine educators can use to meet scholarly activity requirements. The information you provide will be kept strictly confidential. For more information about the CERA surveys, e-mail
Mary Theobald.
