Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum -- A Recognition and a New Direction

The Recogition:
At this year's Annual Spring Conference, Immediate Past President Terrence Steyer, MD, presented the STFM President's Award to the Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum Task Force for their dedication to the development of this valuable curriculum for family medicine clerkship programs.
This award is given to dedicated STFM members who are working behind the scenes to advance the interests and initiatives of the Society. Click HERE for a list of the Family Medicine Clerkship Curricum Task Force Members.

The New Direction: The current Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum is essentially a list of common and important presentations that all medical students should experience during their third-year family medicine clerkship. The STFM Board of Directors, with support from the STFM Foundation, will now begin the next phase of the curriculum development. This phase will identify "How" the curriculum can be implemented within all family medicine clerkship programs and how to evaluate the effectiveness of what is being taught.

Visit the Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum Web page for more information, updates about the second phase of development, and to download a copy of the curriculum
