Financial Conflicts of Interest—Are They Endangering Our Profession?
During the Blanchard Memorial Lecture at this year's Annual Spring Conference, Jerome Kassirer, MD, Tufts University, will challenge us to debate this question. He will ask everyone to explore the extent of industry influence that physicians are currently exposed to, discuss the impact of financial incentives on physicians' judgements, and recommend steps that can be taken to minimize bias. Listen to a STFM Podcast with Dr Kassirer.

STFM Northeast Region Meeting Is Now the Family Medicine Education Consortium Northeast Region Meeting
Beginning Fall 2010, the STFM Northeast Region Meeting will be known as the Family Medicine Education Consortium (FMEC) Northeast Region Meeting.
This name change demonstrates the growing maturity of the FMEC and does not indicate any change in operations, objectives, or organization of the meeting.
The leadership of STFM and the FMEC view this change as a positive outcome of a bold initiative launched by STFM 30 years ago and the innovative nature of the FMEC. STFM will now be listed as an organization “In association with” the FMEC Northeast Region Meeting, and we look forward to further collaborations between the two organizations.
