Medical Student Educators Development Institute

(Formerly named the Predoctoral Directors Development Institute)


The Medical Student Educators Development Institute (MSEDI) is a year-long comprehensive learning experience designed to give you the skills needed to advance your career in medical student education. You can except to learn these skills and more:

  • Obtaining and managing resources
  • Grant writing
  • Curriculum and exam development
  • Student evaluation
  • Dealing with difficult students
  • Recruit preceptors
  • Negotiating
  • Directing a clerkship
  • Winning support from Dean and higher ups

Each fellow will from a relationship with an advisor who will be one of the MSEDI faculty and will complete a project geared toward your person interests. A special outcome for participants will be the relationships developed, with both participants as well as teachers at the Institute.
