Teaching Health Centers and Education in Community Health Centers

The Group on Teaching Health Centers and Education in Community Health Centers serves as a resource and advocacy group for family medicine educators interested in promoting and developing family medicine education programs (both undergraduate and graduate) in community health centers. This effort will include advocacy for and educating the family medicine education community about federal and state legislative efforts to support teaching health centers. The Group will also work to develop closer relationships between the family medicine education community and the community health center community to promote better understanding of our needs and demands to promote further collaboration.

Group Goals

  • Educate family medicine educators about existing opportunities and models to educate residents and other learners in community health centers
  • Promote collaboration and support for programs seeking or implementing the HRSA Teaching Health Center Program
  • Advocate for greater family medicine education opportunities and funding in community health centers
