Society of Teachers of Family Medicine

Spirituality

The overall goals of the Group on Spirituality are (1) to improve the health of all people through the integration of spirituality into comprehensive, patient-centered, and compassionate whole-person care, (2) to foster a broad understanding of spirituality that addresses commonality while celebrating diversity, (3) to support sustainable dedication to the healing, service, and advocacy aspects of family medicine by recognizing the role of spirituality in physician self-care, resilience, and core value development. Our focus continues to be on supporting excellence in patient care, education, and research based on a broad understanding of health that includes physical, mental, and spiritual health.
