The goals of the Group on Osteopathic Family Medicine are (1) to encourage osteopathic medical educators to take advantage of STFM resources for faculty and curriculum development through membership and full participation in the Society, (2) to facilitate interchange of ideas between family medicine departments in osteopathic and allopathic medical schools regarding areas of mutual concern, such as student interest in family medicine, teaching residents and students in the ambulatory setting, and family medicine research, (3) to provide a forum at STFM meetings for osteopathic medical educators to network and discuss common concerns, (4) to encourage presentations, workshops, and seminars regarding osteopathic medical education at STFM meetings, and (5) to encourage recognition of the contribution of osteopathic medicine to the training of family physicians.
