The Group on New Faculty in Family Medicine aims to offer support for academic family physicians in the first 5 years of an academic faculty career. We hope that the group will serve as a resource for supportive relationships and peer mentoring among junior faculty. It is also a forum for discussion about many topics pertinent to faculty in the early parts of their careers, such as life-balance issues, professional development opportunities, mentoring, and negotiation of work roles. Finally, we hope to encourage collaboration among new faculty in all aspects of our careers including curriculum development, clinical research, practice management, and more.
