Physician-Patient Interaction

The Group on Physician-Patient Interaction provides a forum for diverse approaches to the patient-physician relationship and promotes individual and collaborative research activities. The group seeks to develop curricula and strategies for teaching about patient-doctor interactions appropriate for all stages of professional life. The group strives to develop methods of evaluating competence in patient-physician communication and supports the identification and ongoing education about important social, economic, and historical barriers to patient-physician communication. Finally, the group promotes collaboration with other groups with similar missions.
