Care of Infants and Children
Child health is an important component of family medicine. The goal of the STFM Group on Care of Infants and Children is to improve the health outcomes of children by working to improve the training of family medicine residents in child health. Toward that end, our objectives are to:
- Provide a forum for those who wish to exchange ideas and collaborate on child health training within family medicine residencies
- Work towards creating national curricular guidelines in child health training for family medicine residents
- Seek collaborations with other organizations with an interest in child health training in family medicine residencies such as the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academic Pediatric Association, the American Board of Family Medicine, the Family Medicine Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, etc.
