The Group on Behavioral Science serves as a forum for the discussion, collaboration, and communication on issues relevant to behavioral sciences within family medicine. We strive to serve as the professional home for all residency and medical school family medicine educators who aspire to teach a bio-psycho-social (including family, community, culture, and spiritual dimensions) model of health care.

In 2010, The Behavioral Science/Family Systems Educator Fellowship is actively recruiting its first group of fellows. The Groups on Behavioral Science and Family are collaborators, and the leadership of the two groups serve as the Steering Committee for the fellowship. The fellowship received an STFM Board of Directors endorsement and financial support from STFM, the Medical College of Wisconsin, and the STFM Foundation. We were recently awarded an STFM Group Fund 2010–2011 grant to implement this year-long fellowship for newer behavioral science educators (less than 5 years of experience) within family medicine residencies and departments. There is also a new "Group Discussion" option offered through the Family Medicine Digital Resources Library. To join, simply create an user account on FMDRL and join the Group on Behavioral Science. You will automatically be part of the discussion list. Current group members can post to the discussion list by e-mailing forum-348@mail.fmdrl.org.
