Wayne B. Jonas,MD is the president and chief executive officer of the Samueli Institute.A family physician and scientist, he formerly served as the Director of the Office of Alternative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health, the Director of the Medical Research Fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, a Director of a WHO Collaborating Center for Traditional Medicine, and a member of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. He sits on numerous national and international advisory boards and scientific review groups. He is the author of over 150 publications and five books. He received his medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine,Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Integrated Primary Care: From Interesting Add-on to Medical Home Core Service
Alexander Blount, EdD
Alexander Blount, EdD is Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, and Director of Behavioral Science in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He teaches physicians the psychosocial skills of primary care practice and directs the post-doctoral Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology. He directs the Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He was previously Director of the Family Center of the Berkshires in Pittsfield, MA and a faculty member at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in New York. He has over thirty years experience as a therapist, teacher of physicians and therapists, administrator in mental health and medical settings. He is author of two books, Integrated Primary Care:The Future of Medical and Mental Health Collaboration and Knowledge Acquisition. He is currently Chair of the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association. Dr. Blount has lectured around the U.S., Canada and Europe on family therapy, systemic approaches to management, solution focused therapy and Integrated Primary Care.

Barry Jacobs, PsyD, is the Director of Behavioral Sciences for the Crozer- Keystone Family Medicine Residency Program in Springfield, PA and the author of The Emotional Survival Guide for Caregivers—Looking After Yourself and Your Family While Helping an Aging Parent.A former journalist, he writes an advice column for Take Care!, the National Family Caregivers Association newsletter, co-writes an elder care column for HealthCentral.com, and edits the “In Sickness & Health” column of the APA journal Families, Systems & Health. In the past two years, he has given over 150 presentations to groups of family physicians, mental health/social service providers, and family caregivers in 14 U.S. states.
