STFM Advocate Award
Designed to recognize excellence in the field
of political advocacy, the STFM Advocate Award honors a member(s)
for outstanding work in political advocacy at the local, state,
or national level. The recipient's efforts are not restricted
to legislative work but cannot be solely individual patient
advocacy.
Along with supporting STFM's goals and mission, the Legislative
Affairs Committee will rate each candidate on (1) successful
progress toward the achievement of advocate’s goals with
clear articulation of advocacy plan and actions, (2) innovativeness
of program or activity, (3) generalizability of the project
or process, (4) sustained impact on local, state or national
arena, and (5) documentation that advocate's work inspired
others to work for advocate's mission or to develop their own.
The recipient(s) of this award will be honored
during STFM's Annual
Spring Conference in
Baltimore, MD, April 30 - May 4, 2008.
Eleven copies of the complete
nomination packet must be received in the STFM Washington,
DC office by October 1, 2007.

Nominations Requirements:
The nominator must be an STFM member

The nominee must be an STFM member

Nominator must submit a statement citing
the nominee's involvement in a major advocacy effort(s),
and appropriate program or advocacy materials, including
description of the activity or plan

Up to three additional letters of support
from individuals familiar with the program or activity will
be accepted
