Jerome Kassirer, MD, has been at Tufts University for nearly 50 years, and served as vice chairman of the Department of Medicine for 20 of those years. His research has encompassed acid-base balance, medical decision making, and cognitive science. Dr Kassirer is currently distinguished professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and visiting professor at Stanford University. He has written extensively about health care, for-profit medicine, and financial conflict of interest, and is the author of “On The Take: How Medicine’s Complicity with Big Business Can Endanger Your Health.”
