Call for Mentors for Behavioral Science/Family Systems Educator Fellowship
August 16, 2017—The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine is now accepting applications for the position of Small Group Mentor in the Behavioral Science/Family Systems Educator Fellowship (BFEF). The BFEF is seeking behavioral science and physician faculty to serve as mentors to early career behavioral scientists for a yearlong training experience. 

Mentors serve 1 year, starting at the 2018 STFM Annual Spring Conference and ending at the following year's conference. Faculty responsibilities include:

  • Attending training meetings at two annual conferences and the 2018 Behavioral Science Forum
  • Providing support and guidance to fellows as they develop a scholarly project
  • Giving perspectives on the unique issues associated with being a behaviorist in family medicine
  • Providing supplemental information for faculty who are developing their behavioral science curriculum
  • Facilitating monthly 1-hour conference calls with fellows


Submit your letter of interest (1 page or less) describing your unique qualities that would make you a good mentor, biosketch (125 words or less), and CV by October 13 to Sarah Eggers.
