2016 STFM Annual Poetry and Prose Contest

STFM Group on Ethics and Humanities is excited to announce the 2016 STFM Annual Poetry and Prose Contest. The theme of this year's contest is: "What patient interaction has moved you the most as a family physician." Entries are limited to one entry for each category, poetry and prose. Prose can be in the form of a story, narrative, or essay. Poetry can be in the form of a poem, haiku, or 55-word essay.

First and second place will be awarded for each category. The first place prize is $100, and the second place prize is $50. Winning pieces will be on display at the 2016 STFM Annual Spring Conference and awardees will have the opportunity to read their works at the Annual Poetry and Prose Reading at the conference. Awardees will also be assisted in submitting their work for publication in Family Medicine.

To be entered into the competition, send your entries as a PDF or Word file to Hugh Silk, MD, MPH at Entries are due by 5 pm on March 15.
