Chair's Message

Howdy, y’all! We’re looking forward to an outstanding 2018 STFM Conference on Medical Student Education and encourage you to join us. The conference will be February 1–4, 2018 at the Hilton Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas.

There is a first time for everything! At the STFM Conference on Medical Student Education, you will find a warm, welcoming, supportive environment… fertile ground for planting the seeds of innovation in medical education and growing collaborative networks for educational research. Share your experiences and benefit from the perspectives of your peers and colleagues from around the nation and beyond. Learn from inspiring plenary speakers! Enjoy dedicated networking time with family medicine educators, clerkship and course directors, education coordinators, community faculty, preceptors, and medical students. Nurture, grow, and develop friendships, engage with mentors, and find your professional home!

For those who have attended before, welcome back. We are STFM and our team rocks! Share your passion for family medicine, wisdom and perspectives in education, and vision for our future. Bring your colleagues, residents, and students to share in the excitement and develop the next generation of family medicine educators. Together we will create competent, compassionate, collaborative, and creative physicians to address the health needs of our communities.

On behalf of the Conference Steering Committee, I invite you to join us for #MSE18! Share your work and learn from others. Explore sessions on leadership, disruptive innovation, technology, self-directed learning, community engagement, social determinants of health, equity and diversity, EPAs, competency-based curricula and assessment, mentorship, and more! I look forward to seeing you in Austin!

Best regards,

Jacob Prunuske, MD, MSPH
