Dues to STFM are not deductible as a charitable contribution but may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. However, a portion of the dues, estimated to be 10%, is not deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense because STFM promotes the interests of family medicine educators on legislative matters.
